Dakota Lane Johnston 1999 - 2008

3rd Annual Dakota Lane Chili Cook-Off

Why we cook

The Dakota Lane Chili Cook-off is an opportunity for us to celebrate the life of Dakota Lane Johnston and welcome friends and family to an afternoon of fun and good food.

In doing so we hope to raise awareness of AVM (Arterio-Venous Malformation- is a tangle of arteries in the brain that bypasses normal brain tissue and directly diverts blood from the arteries to the veins resulting in devastating hemorrhages, headaches and seizures.) and raise funds for AVM research with the help of The Aneurysm and AVM Foundation (TAAF).

Dakota was born October 20, 1999, in Grapevine, TX. He was in second grade at Nance Elementary in Fort Worth. He was baptized in November 2007 at the Met Church in Keller. He loved to hunt, fish and spend time outdoors. Dakota was a true inspiration to everyone he met. He lived life to the fullest. Dakota never met a stranger and brightened the world with his big smile and loving heart. He will continue to bless others with life through his gift of organ donation.
